About the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery programme

The British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS), in partnership with Health Education England elearning for healthcare, has developed an elearning resource to support good clinical practice.
e-LPRAS supports the training programme for plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery and is aimed at plastic surgery trainees from specialty training year 3 (ST3) onwards. The elearning will also appeal to consultants, non-consultant career grades and allied health professionals who want to increase and update their knowledge base.

e-LPRAS provides new and complementary material to support rather than replace existing learning resources.
This peer-reviewed, evidence based elearning is available, free of charge, to all clinicians in the NHS throughout the UK and to full members of BAPRAS. Once registered, you will be able to access each 20-30 minute session via the internet from work or home.
High resolution images, videos, animations and assessments will engage you throughout the learning process. You are encouraged to plan and record your learning and use your newly acquired knowledge to reflect on your clinical practice.
Sample sessions
e-LPRAS offers a wide range of sessions covering the knowledge-base of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, together with formative assessments.
Each of the sessions covers a small chunk of the curriculum, using high-quality graphics, animations, video and interactive questions. The sessions complement each other, providing comprehensive coverage of basic and clinical science, practical knowledge and professional matters.
Learners can work through individual sessions, in any order they choose, or follow a more structured learning plan of a section of the curriculum.

This session provides an overview of the developments that have helped to shape the specialty of plastic surgery.

Planning the Orientation of Skin Incisions
This session describes the methods that can be used by plastic surgeons to plan the orientation of skin incisions.

Principles of Transplant Immunology
This session provides a comprehensive account of transplant immunology, focusing on those aspects of greatest relevance to plastic surgeons (e.g. skin, limb and face allotransplantation).

In order to access the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery programme, you will need an elfh account. If you do not have one, then you can register by selecting the Register button below.
To view the Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery programme, select the View button below. If you already have an account with elfh, you will also be able to login and enrol on the programme from the View button.
Not an NHS organisation?
If you are not an NHS health or care organisation and therefore do not qualify for free access elfh Hub, you may be able to access the service by creating an OpenAthens account.
