Revalidation is the new process that all nurses and midwives in the UK need to follow to maintain their registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Revalidation enables nurses and midwives to demonstrate that they practise safely and effectively.
This elearning package, commissioned by Health Education England, has been designed to support registered nurses and midwives throughout the process of revalidation, to which they must be compliant since April 2016. It supports NMC registrants in order to hold an effective professional discussion as part of the revalidation process.
The elearning package helps registered nurses and midwives to further understand and apply what they already know about the process and the requirements for revalidation. It provides links to tools, resources and the NMC Code to help with this process.
For further information about revalidation, please visit the NMC website: http://revalidation.nmc.org.uk.
There are two key parts to this programme. As the NMC Code is central to the whole revalidation process, registered nurses and midwives are encouraged to revisit the NMC revalidation documentation and the NMC Code (2015) to which there are links in the resources tab throughout the programme.
This can be used to support your own personal needs or simply access key sections within it for use in supporting colleagues to engage with the process.
This package was developed with the support of the following organisations:
