The Sexual Health and HIV programme has undergone a comprehensive review and the majority of sessions have been updated over the past three years. The sessions continue to be updated as guidelines and practices evolve. In addition, we have developed a number of new sessions covering additional content;

New sessions:
- 01_18 Sexual Problems Part 4
This session looks at some definitions of sexual desire and arousal as well as the causes and management of absent or low sexual desire and arousal in women. It covers simple management and arranging onward referral for female patients with these problems. - 01_19 Chemsex
This session covers chemsex related drugs, issues relating to chemsex and the basic approach to be taken with an individual presenting with a chemsex related drugs problem. - 11_07 HIV Pre-exposure Prophylaxis
This session provides an understanding around the role and use of pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV.

About the Sexual Health and HIV programme
eHIV-STI is an engaging and extensive elearning programme supporting specialist training in Sexual Health & HIV.
It has been developed by the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH), the Royal College of Physicians, The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, and the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in partnership with Health Education England elearning for healthcare.
eHIV-STI provides the knowledge framework for healthcare professionals treating and supporting people with sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, and related conditions.
It can be supplemented by training in the clinical setting to reinforce the knowledge and develop the skills and attitudes necessary for successful practice in the area.
The training material provides an extensive knowledge base for STIs and HIV and is delivered at three levels from introductory, to more advanced and finally specialist knowledge so that learning can be appropriately structured.
Around 140 sessions of elearning incorporating video clips and case studies cover large parts of the knowledge components of the sexual health and HIV (Genitourinary Medicine) curriculum for trainees. Many components are also relevant for trainees in related specialties such as dermatology, infectious diseases and gynaecology, as well as those in primary care wanting to increase their knowledge in the area of sexual health and HIV.
Curriculum
The elearning has been divided into 17 modules which each offering a number of elearning sessions. Learners can work through any module relevant to their specific training needs, in any order they choose.

What to expect
The material has been written by senior clinicians and each elearning session takes around 20 minutes to complete to fit in with busy working schedules.
The sessions feature animation, videos, case studies and interactive exercises and help to reinforce the knowledge and develop the skills necessary for successful practice in the area of sexual health and HIV.

How to access
In order to access the Sexual Health and HIV programme, you will need an elfh account. If you do not have one, then you can register by selecting the Register button below.
To view the Sexual Health and HIV programme, select the View button below. If you already have an account with elfh, you will also be able to login and enrol on the programme from the View button.
NHS healthcare staff in England
The Sexual Health and HIV programme is also available to NHS healthcare staff via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR). Accessing this elearning via ESR means that your completions will transfer with you throughout your NHS career.

Not an NHS organisation?
If you are not an NHS health or care organisation and therefore do not qualify for free access elfh Hub, you may be able to access the service by creating an OpenAthens account.
To check whether or not you qualify for free access via OpenAthens, you can view the eligibility criteria and register on the ‘OpenAthens’ portal.
Registering large numbers of users
